Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American-British guitarist, singer and songwriter. She was the lead guitar in The Runaways - a hard rock group made up of girls in the late 1970s. The Runaways were not very successful in The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career proved successful following the split of the band. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her solo debut album "Out for Blood", followed by "Dancin' in the Dark". Ford's albums were not very well-received, and so she went under the radar for several years. In 1988, Ford returned to the spotlight with her smash album "Lita". Both the track "Kiss Me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. The singer disappeared from the world of music for couple of years following her brief success. The release of "Black" to the public in 1995 followed 'Wicked Wonderland, almost 15 year after. Her most recent album, Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
