Formerly a top fashion model who was 5'10'' in height, Carey was popular with top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 in 1979, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists voted her father Scientist of The Year. Carey was raised all over the planet because of her father's career. While she was at an institution called the University of Colorado at part-time, she caught the interest of Ford model Agency representative in New York. She moved to France in the year 1980, and lived briefly in Paris as well as Bordeaux prior to deciding to move back in New York to continue with her college education and modeling career. She soon began being featured on the cover of Vogue, Glamour, etc. Between her modelling assignments she also studied literature full time during her time at New York University. Then she became interested in acting and began studying with the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. In 1986 she began her career as an actor with a small part in "Club Paradise" alongside Robin Williams. Her leisure time is spent ski, wind surfing, rock climbing and white water rafting.
